Motherhood is a journey filled with challenges and rewards, especially when it comes to raising three energetic, busy girls.

As a mother, I find immense joy in planning outdoor adventures as I believe they offer valuable lessons for life.

I hope to ignite a spark within them that encourages them to seek out their own adventures, to explore the world around them, and to chase their dreams.

I want them to grow up knowing that they have the power to shape their own destinies and that they should never shy away from pursuing what sets their hearts on fire.

Reflecting on my own upbringing, I often recall the wise words of my mother, who used to say: “The best way to teach your children is to be what you want them to aspire to be.”

These words resonate deeply with me as I strive to embody the qualities I wish to instil in my daughters. I aim to be a living example of what it means to be passionate, persevering, brave, loving, kind, generous, determined, focused, inspired, and inspiring.

I want them to see in me the embodiment of independence and capability, so they can envision themselves as strong, self-sufficient individuals who can conquer their own challenges.

LIFE IN SYDNEY AUSTRALIA

We are lucky to be living close to both the Ocean and the Blue Mountains, allowing us to explore the best of both environments.

The greatest advantage of exploring the mountains is escaping the distractions of our hectic lives aka the chaos of school, extracurricular activities, and social obligations.

I find kids being able to focus better, laugh more, and simply relax and have fun when we are hiking!

As we navigate the trails together, we also discuss important life lessons, share our dreams, and reflect on our experiences, all of which contribute to their growth as individuals.

I've been bringing the girls to the Blue Mountains for more than five years. Their journey began when they were only 3, 4, and 6 years old, starting with a few 1km hikes! :)

Over the years, we gradually extended the distance and incorporated camping into our hiking adventures.

We call them: Girls only, hiking trips in the Blueys!

Through hiking, climbing, and mountaineering, I also strive to show my daughters the ropes (pun intended) of outdoor exploration, teaching them how to navigate trails, understand the importance of safety, and respect the environment around us. This awareness nurtures a sense of responsibility and encourages them to make environmentally conscious choices in their everyday lives.

Each outing becomes an opportunity to bond, share stories, and create lasting memories while engaging with the natural world.

Mountains have introduced me to many global friendships, from Nepal to Kilimanjaro, the Rockies, and more recently, the Andes. I hope they continue to enrich our lives!

While hiking - we laugh, we talk, we sometimes cry, and most importantly, we support each other, creating a safe space where my daughters can express themselves freely.

These moments of connection are critical for their emotional development. They help build a strong foundation of trust and communication within our family.

Being a mother and experiencing these special moments is truly a privilege.

As we explore the wonders of our planet together, I am reminded of the importance of nurturing both their spirits and their connection to the world around them, ensuring that they grow into strong, compassionate, and environmentally conscious individuals.

Onwards and Upwards! ..As we start to pack for our 6th Annual Hiking Trip! Girls only 💛
